TARGET AUDIENCE: male and female gymnasts of all age groups (juniors, college, elite), coaches, parents, and medical providers.
OVERVIEW/DESCRIPTION: General athlete mental health has been emphasized in recent years, and this webinar will focus on athlete mental health specifically in gymnastics. The topic will be examined through conversations, life examples and a brief presentation of strategies for supporting athlete concerns. A panel that includes an accomplished NCAA collegiate gymnast, multidisciplinary gymnastics medical staff, and an expert mental health provider will outline mental health concerns gymnasts may face and resources to offer support. The role medical staff plays in identifying and referring athletes to appropriate resources will be discussed.
